interesting, also not going to condemn him for his actions, they are perfectly human in this scenario. People can preach their ethics and all that bullshit, but when thrown into a situation like this, where the rules no longer exist(expect special missions ofc) and all you got is knowledge of a set of undeniable laws(Movies, after every movie 10 days of rest + whatever amount of time you buy from god, purchase basically anything from god at the right price, newbies coming every new movie up to currently 20, with current minimum of 7) there are really no reasons to condemn anyone anymore unless their actions effect your own life directly or indirectly(changing plot getting them in danger). Especially when you never know if you will survive the next movie.

I’m surprised that Jie did not show any signs of being pissed off at Zhang for changing the plot. He’s probably aware that side-quests require one to complicate the story, or go beyond the known path. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t want them to change the plot not just because it’s dangerous, but because they’d take his points. :u

An other point I want to make, is that Lan seems like the sort of character that’d get someone killed. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’d sacrifice Jie himself at the end of this movie.

We just can’t have nice things, it seems.

I absolutely love Xuan’s Character, truly a genius. If you pay attention there is a justification for everything he did this chapter and if you remove emotions, camaraderie and basic human needs… this seems completely fine. But, of course, it is not. Nonetheless, I love sociopaths.

I am however starting to dislike the main character as he is being driven by his emotions and the only reason he has not died yet is because he is literally deus ex machina incarnate. Of course it is easier to relate to an emotional main character who is literally being pit into despair and having his past oneitis/love-of-his-life almost being killed by some devious mastermind. But in all honesty, this is literally a cliche and I’ve grown tired of it. Xuan piqued my interest however, especially his dialogue… some of it is complete bullshit but there are seemingly several hints of truth in what he says that really makes you think.

Well to sum things up, there are a lot of characters like Zheng, but characters like Xuan with details such as this? They are quite rare and I honestly find him more interesting which is why I’m reading to begin with. If you remove all morals, what is bad and what is good, and how the characters makes you feel. Xuan is truly the best character in my opinion, he has flaws as has been obviously stated before… and he isn’t always right. But there is always a twist to his actions, there is always more to his actions than what first meets the eye. Making him a much more interesting character, because you cannot predict each and everyone of his actions–though you may obviously pinpoint what general direction his actions tend to go from here.

I predict that he will shortly succumb to a death by the MC in the next movie, or shortly become the main villain. He is quite literally the perfect candidate for being the main villain/antagonist of this story.

However, I would absolutely love it if they managed to turn Xuan into a more morally good character and more like-able, because at this point he is obviously going to be executed or turned into a villain who we will only see do “evil” things.

When I kept thinking of my dislike of Xuan I asked myself how would he reconcile with his team if he lives after all this. I mean, no matter the reason to trick the enemy Xuan faked his death in front of his entire Team. I feel like no one would be able to trust Xuan in any way again, or they would go along with him but the spirit of the team would be broken. And when I tired to imagine a reason why Xuan would go so far to hide things, an unbelievable idea popped into my head. HaoTian is a spy for Team Celestial sent by Adam.

My reasons for this conclusion.

With the appearance of HaoTian, Adam’s former partner, Xuan immediately realized Adam’s plot. Adam for the sake of killing the original demon Zheng went as far as to send a double agent into Team China to obstruct them from the inside. Clone Xuan escaped with Team Devil from Team Celestial, so Adam sent HaoTian to hinder original Xuan. Perhaps the one who told, no confirmed the death notification was HaoTian, who spoke to Adam mentally. Adam will in the end give HaoTian an item to transfer into Team Celestial, or survive a wipe. In case of a wipe HaoTian who is probably at the first stage (drug), will be tested to become the new leader and advance to the Second Stage, and will then join Team Celestial to reunit with Adam.

Xuan spoke to Zero in a way that can be considered a plan to kill HaoTian as they discussed his abilities.

Xuan knows of this plot and faked his death to allow HaoTian to take his place within the team for the sake of tricking Adam. The way Xuan never speaks of Adam and that he is trusting Adam’s partner to lead such a important mission, is all down right suspicious. Would you normally allow perhaps your mortal enemy’s best friend/partner to hold such power in your own organization? Even if HaoTian isn’t a spy, would Xuan not consider the possibility that he wouldn’t be able to fight Adam’s Team Celestial and betray the team? Xuan is doing his best to make sure Adam believes he can wipe Team China at anytime long as HaoTian is calling the shots.

That’s my theory, but there is something off with this deception as well. Adam must have considered sending HaoTian was like saying he’s in this dimension and that HaoTian is a spy. HaoTian could have also told a better story to trick Xuan like he and Adam heard of God’s Dimension from rumors and tired to enter together, but Adam was invited a bit before him when he was overseas, and HaoTian in China, not knowing they wouldn’t end up in the same place/team. So my belief is that Adam, if he is not stupid or falls for the stupid way Xuan died, is just playing around as he wants to win a battle of wits against Xuan after losing to Clone Xuan. Xuan might also have realized that Adam is just messing around. When the cultivator guy was about to fight Team China, and would have probably won, Adam ever so convincingly called him off. Adam’s name was revealed thanks to this and it was hinted they were all under surveillance.

So this all basically a battle of wits between these two, and for Adam using actual brute force to deal with Team China would be equivalent of his loss in the battle of wits.

This is pretty awesome so far! LOL I started it yesterday and felt a bit lost b/c I never saw Resident Evil, but I really wanted to read it so I literally just sat down and finished watching Resident Evil 30 minutes ago and the dialogue of TI and the screenplay of the movie are extremely similar (it’s just adjusted a bit by having One mention Jie on a few occasions). I bet the author of this is constantly referring to the movie as he writes! Interested in how the plot may or may not change!

I feel like we’d really need a few Youtube dumps in the TL-notes in order to properly appreciate this story. Not to mention the whole laser scene, the narrative itself relies too much on the readers having any idea what the movie is about.

For an instance, Alice, out of nowhere, just asked Kaplan: “What’s this?”, and the narrative never actually described what she’s looking at. Kaplan just immediately explained: “Oh that’s an EMP bomb.”

I think we all figure that there are certain parts in the movie that are irrelevant to the characters, and the author just placed the original dialogue as it is, in order to merely set the next bits in scene. But if that’s the case, I feel like we’re going to end up losing a lot of information between the lines, because the author just wants to focus on neat action bits, rather than smooth you into it. After all, the characters are all horror-movie enthusiasts, they don’t need any exposition….But I do, the readers do. One cannot rely on everyone knowing these movies like the back of their hand. A scene needs to stand on its own, rather than just seem like the development of the movie-scene has nothing to do with the audience, it just goes somewhere unrelated. It really feels like the author did not want to describe too much anything that has to do with the movie itself, and just let it progress as if he’s reading the subtitles from the movie.

This is probably the only time I ever complained that a story up here has a lack of narrative, instead of complaining that they describe things way too much. y;

And yes, that opinion is probably too early to form. Tis has been only a few pages, but the lack of narrative strikes hard. I constantly feel like I’m missing something, if I read a single line too quickly.

Welcome A0132!

I loved the description of Terror Infinity and I am looking forward to read the rest of the chapters.

Sorry to start like this but something has been bothering me: in many places it seems to my french mind, that it should be ‘consciousness’ (the noun) instead of ‘conscious’ (the adj.).

Can any native english speaker confirm this ?I hope this will get fixed somehow if it should be.

Thank you already for your hard work.

很抱歉我要以此开场,但有些细节确实让我很困扰:在本法国佬看来,有些地方应该写成“consciousness(名词)”而非“conscious(形容词)”。

Please take this situation seriously. The author is throwing way too many jokes around.(请严肃对待这种情况,这个作者抖机灵抖过头了。)

He causes too much drama.(他强行带来了过多的戏剧性)。

MrVoid则表示:“As long as the author doesn’t stand atop a flight of stairs and screams from the bottom of his lungs: ‘Haaailll Chinnaaaaa!!—-’ I’m fine with it.”
